As a continuation of The Silver Boat, this story takes an unsuspected and bewildering turn as the Little Girl attempts to sail onward to the "warm and sunny land". The experiences during the journey challenges the little girl to deal even more deeply with the most troublesome and disguised aspects of herself.
Issues of introjection, anger, power, projection, and the necessity to change are metaphorically resolved. The need to play, have fun, and rely on both inner and outer resources are re-discovered in this healing journey. In turn, The Little Girl comes to an even deeper sense of peace and connectedness with herself and the world about her.
The Silver Boat II was written by Ann Adams, a Clinical Nurse Specialist with a Masters Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. In addition to The Silver Boat & The Silver Boat II, Ann has published in professional journals and has co-authored chapters in two textbooks. Ann has also presented at numerous national and international conferences and workshops.
Comments from readers:
"Your books, my therapist keeps telling me, are 'only stories.' They're not. They're talismans. They're something physical I can hold onto and return to over and over again to help me find courage to walk in the blue light."
"Thanks so much for your new story. It captures so well the dynamics involved, and brought tears to my eyes, as did The Silver Boat I."
