Risking Connection® in Faith Communities Learn about the nature of psychological trauma, how it affects people, and how faith leaders can help. Because this presentation is addressed to spiritual and lay religious leaders, particular attention is paid to the spiritual impact of trauma. We focus on the need for growth-promoting relationships; explore the connection between trauma and spiritual distress; recognize the value of spirituality in recovery; address the impact of trauma on the helper; and looks at how faith communities can promote healing. 12 Continuing Education Credits Available for an additional $30.00

Facilitator - Elizabeth Power, M.Ed. “I believe Risking Connection is the most important material I’ve worked with across my thirty years of helping people learn, grow, and change. As I’ve taught the program in different settings, it has settled into my ‘bones.’ Almost every day I am aware of hearing myself think about the self-capacities and growth-promoting relationships in some situation.” Elizabeth is CEO of EPower & Associates, Inc., a Nashville-based organization providing services from design through evaluation in adult learning. She gets rave review from audiences and participants ranging from congregate care facilities and outpatient services to forensic academies and faith communities. She is a nationally recognized speaker.
