My name is Jaime Pollack and I am founder/director of a non-profit called An Infinite Mind. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to educating the public and professional community about trauma based dissociation with a primary focus on Dissociative Identity Disorder in an effort to dispel the myths and stigmas attached to it.
I just received a copy of the article from Sidran in which you discuss the Showtime show, the US of Tara. I have received a lot of information from many therapists and organizations concerning this show and this article was by far, one of the best responses I have seen. You summarized every concern our organization has had with the program. It was excellent. Thank you very much for speaking on behalf of the DID community. This was very well done.

Thank you and Sidran Institute for the comprehensive nature of your approach to Showtime's recent pilot program, The United States of Tara. Dr. Steven Gold's article and Sidran's public information resources are not only comprehensive, they are sensitive to the needs of individuals recovering from DID/DDNOS and to the professional clinicians who treat dissociattive disorders.
We applaud the combination of informative resources Sidran has created and presented in such a factual, sensitive and professional manner. On behalf of our communities of peers, therapists and support peers, we appreciate the time and effort invested in developing resources dedicated to accurately addressing trauma-based dissociative disorders. We are all better served by such holistic initiatives whetere the interested viewer/reader is a member of the general public, a treatment professional or an individual recovering from traumatic childhood abuse and their vital support network.
May the commitment to professionalism, objectivity and care Sidran fosters in all of its initiatives continue to grace the mental health field and trauma-based dissociation.
With best personal regards, I am
