Mentalization as a Multidimentional Concept: Implications for the Treatment of Patients with Trauma-Related Psychopathology

The Consortium for Psychoanalytic Research (CPR) is sponsoring a conference on Sunday, February, 21, 2010 on "Mentalization as a Multidimentional Concept: Implications for the Treatment of Patients with Trauma-Related Psychopathology."
The presenter will be Patrick Luyten, PhD, Assistant Professor and Co-Director of the Psychoanalysis Unit at the Department of Psychology, Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium). The location will be at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC, from 8:30 AM-4:30 PM.
Dr. Luyten's main research interest focuses on the role of personality, stress and interpersonal processes in depression, chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. He is also involved instudies on mentalization-based treatment of patients with personality disorders. He is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Psychology, University College London,
London (UK), a Visiting Research Scholar at the Yale Child Study Center, New Haven (USA), and a member of the Research Advisory Board, International Psychoanalytical Association, and a recent recipient of its Psychoanalytic Research Exceptional Contribution Award.
The registration fee is $68; $38 for full-time students and active duty military.
